The Hunger Games

Last night I saw the Hunger Games with my family. Whew! It was so intense. Like, I was sweaty the whole time and after the show got over my knees were all wobbly intense.
My sister and I kept leaning over to each other to remind the other one that we know how "it" ends. Haha. Little remarks were also shared between the two of us like, "Ceasar is PERFECT, so perfect!" and "I think I'm going to be sick." Haha.
All in all it was awesome. Of course, even though it was 2.5 hours (it went by so fast though!) long, they obviously couldn't fit every little detail into the movie. But at the same time, the movie captured and explained a few things better than the book did. You needed to have read the books before the movie, at least thats my opinion. My dad thought otherwise.
Can't wait for it to come out on DVD!

A few characters that I LOVED in the movie that I didn't really notice in the books:

Ceasar Flickerman. He really nailed his role. So good.

Effie Trinket. I love Elizabeth Banks now!

Cato. Yeah, there was a weird kind of attraction to the Career the movie managed to bring out in me.

Cinna. He captured his image so well.

Of course Rue was my favorite in the books. I wish they had brought her out more in movie.

By the way- did you know that Gale's brother is Thor? No wonder these two made my celebrity crush list!

Oh, and apparently there is some sort of "Team Gale, or Team Peeta" thing going around. Oh boy. That one sure is a toss up.
I think we're lookin' a little Twilight, guys.

I hope I didn't spoil anything for you! If you haven't seen the movie, go see it, but make sure you read the book first! If you have seen it, what are your thoughts???

  2. Hey, I'm Bobbi visiting from Lizzi's blog. I loved the movie. Felt a bit rushed, but overall I thought it was very well done. The person I thought was cast perhaps best was Heymitch. I though he played the role great! Loved it...plus all the little comic moments were a good addition. My husband went with me, even though he hasn't read the books. He liked it enough that I think he wants to read the books now. But I did end up explaining a few small details....

  8. I've read the book and yet to see the movie. A friend just gave me a bit of spoiler, she doesn't like how it ended showing a bit of Catching Fire.
