random bits + you probably didn't know.

I thought I was being gentle. From the looks of how that kitten is holding on for dear life though....

Last week's FHE. Getting our flower beds all pretty. Mostly hubs did all the work. I weeded. And measured out the plants. But later found out that I let the bushes be planted crooked. Hubs could only laugh. I tried, ya know?

And I clearly killed my flowers. Didn't even have them for a day. Luckily hubs rescued them.

More in the flower beds.

Grilled pineapple, chicken, and sweet potatoes. I love that most of my weeknights are spent at home now.

Current entertainment. This says a lot about us.

Just little tidbits from around the house.

- FYI I cannot prepare any meals with my hair down. I always have to pull it up if I'm dealing with food. Hair and food= gross.

- Hubs likes his milk warm. He leaves the gallon sitting out all day so it'll be nice and warm for dinner. Yuck. It took me a while to not put it in the fridge anytime I saw it sitting out. I don't drink it anyways so its all his. Warm yuckiness and all.

- Today was the first day in a little over a week that I've actually had energy and motivation to be productive. Modern food kills me, man. I'm trying to get it out of my body and I actually feel a lot better today. Still have a headache and tummy troubles but I've got energy to clean the house, work, grocery shop, etc. Feels great to not be a bum.

- My sister came home from Washington today. Yippeeee!

- I've got a whole lotta veggies to start making a whole lotta salsa. I'm going to be eating that goodness for weeks. So excited.

- That is all for my ramblings.

I just realized that I spent a lot of my day playing with animals. Who needs a social life when you've got fury friends? Haha, I guess thats just the ranch girl in me talking.

I've had a gross fever blister on my lip this week. Swollen and all. Awesome. Hubs stares at it and then tells me its yucky. Thanks man. So flattering. Anybody got some awesome tips to get rid of it?

We've been pumping iron this week. Hubs got some nice weights. We lift while we watch our shows at night. Hubs laughs when I do it. But he looks at my muscles too. I make sure they get real nice and manly for him when he's looking.

I've been working on my little business lately. Hopefully I can get things up and running soon so I can make it official!

Anybody know the best place to get discounted Disneyland tickets? Hubs and I are hoping to go this summer. *Crossing my fingers*

can't resist them four-legged babies

Today I played with the baby goats at my parent's house for a little bit. Lots of squeezing, petting, and rubbing ears were involved. One of the babies sucked on my finger any chance she could get, then would suck or chew all of my clothes till she figured out how to jump on my back when I was crouched down. Then she got serious and started to eat my hair. Just trimming the usual split ends, ya know? ;)

Its baby animal central over there. Chickies, lots of goats, and even some soon to be kittens! Just another reason why I looooove this season.

Happy Friday, everyone! Hope yours will be warmer than mine, gonna strap on my big girl pants and accompany the hubs on a little outdoor adventure this weekend. And then listen to some conference. So pumped!

Chickies!

I'm noticing a spring trend here. Buying baby animals. Last year we got our baby bunnies. And this year we got us some baby chickies! I told hubs that next year is a puppy. He quickly said, "No" and I quickly said, "Yes." Well see though, I think between our garden, bunnies, and chickens, our backyard is running out of space.

Meet the new babes of the fam fam. Mimi, Hiney, Bum-bum, and Stone Tallon. Can you guess which ones Jimmy named? Hint- the last two....

A few things we have learned so far....

-  These little girls don't really like to cuddle.
- They like hopping and climbing all over our hands though.
- And they are smart.
- Today one of them already climbed out of their box! Then ran away from me laughing (or so it looked like) while I chased after her and luckily caught her.
- Jimmy gets out of bed early to go peek on the sleeping babes. That's rare to get out of bed early, ya know.
-They can keep their water clean for about 2.2 seconds. What talent!
- We can't tell the gold ones apart very well. So its highly possible that we are calling them by the wrong names.
- We spend our free time, including our FHE, watching them and letting them peck our freckles.
- They dig little nests and take lots of naps in them- its so cute!
- When they sleep they bury their faces in the shavings.
- Speaking of sleeping- they play for a few minutes then have to go take naps. Little newborns.
- We talk like they are our babies.
- We act like they are our babies.
- Hubs tells me to be quiet when they are napping so I don't wake them up.
- I think we are going a little chicken crazy.

just an overload for my own recapping pleasures

Apparently "overload" is an understatement around here. Lately I have been trying to think of any major things that happened this past year. But in reality I just could not pin any spectacular "milestones" down. Last year was crazy- newly weds, new house, all that jazz. This is year has been nothing like I imagined. None of my little "plans" actually planned out the way I wanted them to. I have had to learn more patience and to rely on my Heavenly Father and my own testimony more than I ever had to. I have learned more about what becoming a woman means, my love for my family has grown immensely, I can say I've earned my title "Clean Freak" (Nobody saw that one coming!) and I have learned my way around a kitchen.

As I scanned through my old photos from throughout the year, I couldn't help but smile (and click "upload upload upload!") at all of the fun adventures Mr. Hubs and I were able to have.
You can probably tell we love anything outdoors.
And camping wherever possible- even the living room? YES!
We attempted to start our own family with a pair of bunnies. Totally impulse. It was a holiday, we were both home, and the hubs said, "I want a bunny, lets go get some bunnies." Of course I couldn't turn that one down! (Bravo, Hubs) One pet store later and we had us some baby bunnies.
Basil Stag Hare and Princess Poppy. We later found out Princess Poppy wasn't a girl.
But Princess Poppy still goes by his birth  name.
We probably should have planned that one out better.
Jimmy was able to start his own garden. He did a fantastic job! All credit goes to him, not me. I wasn't even allowed near it because apparently my thumb is not so green. But Jimmy reassures me that I'm going to have to learn because he won't have any time this summer. (Yay for big boy jobs!)

I love that man. So much. Its so weird how your love for somebody just keeps growing and growing everyday. You think at one point it wouldn't be able to grow anymore but then Cupid laughs in your face and shoots more arrows your way. Its really quite nice.
